For Mardi Gra the major event of the schedule looks like a good one, the Ball!
In NOLA there are about 50 balls at least and as I was one night lost in St. Charles Avenue.
I came upon one going on.
Everyone arrived in chauffeured limousines and dressed black tie.
There were fairy tale scenes as one would expect, based on the Cinderella story.
Yet in a way there was a sense of another old tale, the one where Cinderella doesn't get to go to the ball out of poverty and family cruelty.
What one might call child abuse or domestic violence, today.
Sadly we still have shelters yet the social problem is on the increase
instead of finding our way through the laws and social intervention,
out of the black forest or white doom!
What else from the myth can we take from Cinderella that might provide an ember
of the solution to be had?
One is that the Coach is blue and fully trimmed with gold;
Are the colors significant, to a lightening idea?
Maybe the coach is a fairy land where sexual orientation is Okay.
Maybe the night is a dream and the river this year a way of Twain toward roots!

meat and marathon in NOLA
I remember the first time there as if the same as today....
3 months are now like 3 years.....
the Tibetan I knew becomes a stranger I didn't know at the time,
as if time says this is how not, conditioned memory.
Everyone around takes pics and they don't ask!
My protein content is like a runner stacking calories,
what is happening?
......now the Canadians have won the womens hockey, and the gold is
for four prose and score in overtime, like the mens and Sochi looks like Ireland.
The hills and the racer, where are the downhill and the tai chi!

Where is this kind of prophesy made into aliveness,
or of the depth necessary for serious encounter?

Walkabout and the age of Burroughs,
the writer from St Louis, though he lived here off and on so like many writers he was a traveler.
I want to go visit him at his gravesite and see the famed headstone that reads---- an American writer.
The cemetery is also famed to be haunted dark and seedy the livin, like Market street which
interested Burroughs the most.
He wrote Queer, probably his most renowned or known work of art.
As I was traveling on the bus here I felt that St. Louis having spent time here before was a place for
writers, like Paris or Moscow!
In fact some American writers are better understood other places.

of repressed for the folks......

Are we hibernators at heart in the cold spells of winding through the months of
cold weather, snow and the other factors of the season.

Pierre had a shopping list of items readying the cake for Mardi Gra
beginning in 5 days.
He was in a hurry and seemed to have a craving suddenly for another ingredient,
so he went to a special bakers market in the old district.
He ran into a friend of his from Madrid and they spoke to each other in
the Basque form.
They had worked at the same restaurant many years before.
His friend had written a cookbook on the specialties of the region.
This publication.........was to be dedicated to his late great uncle a guerilla soldier,
or part of the resistance during WWII.
I have tasted many of his recipes and they are delightfully refined,
with lean meats and spices, for a palate experience in seduction!
